About the platform

Share-Engage platform is designed as a resource for learning, inspiration, sharing ideas, and fostering collaboration. It is created for teachers, pedagogues, educational and cultural institutions, youth organizations, individuals, and groups of children and young people, as well as those working with and for them.

Share-Engage platform summarises our twenty years of experiences as C31- Centre for Creating a Culture of Children’s Rights, in the field of human and child rights, participation and activism, education and culture, policy and practice for and with children and young people.

Long-standing experience, ongoing processes and results of the projects, programs, seminars, workshops, and social actions with more than 12,000 directly engaged participants, are now brought up as the C31 approach and presented through 8 principles on the Share-Engage platform. These are the guiding principles of our work.

Our Approach

The Share-Engage platform elaborates key principles and presents content and methodology developed by C31. The Platform can serve as an inspiration and support in creating educational programs, projects, and participatory approaches in working with children and young people.

Various resources are shared within the Platform, some of which have been specially created, while others have been redesigned for its purposes with acknowledgment of projects, partners, and funders under which they were originally created.

Share-Engage platform as a core part of the C31’s approach, has been developed within the international Project ENGAGE, implemented in partnership with Raoul Wallenberg Academy from Sweden, with financial support from Swedish Institute.

Presented resources on the Platform are the intellectual property of C31. Therefore, any unauthorized copying without proper citation and the author’s approval will be considered as misuse and treated in accordance with the law.

Be the best version of yourself and provide motivation for others.

In the time of widespread relativisation and crisis of societal values, being connected with the internal, personal values is of utmost importance. These values serve as a frame of reference and help us distinguish between right and wrong, justice and injustice, human and inhumane.

They guide us, guide our actions, and contribute to a positive change.
They make us humans, and we, by our deeds, make the world a better place.

ENGAGE

For a Better Reality

„Engage” for the causes that matter to you – whether they concern you personally, someone important to you, or even the one you don’t know at all. Get informed about the struggles others face and learn how you can help. Initiate meaningful conversations, take actions, and find the ways and means to provide support. Even small actions can have a profound impact!
Be a humanistic, aware, and mindful citizen of society.

In today’s world, many people do not have equal rights, the same living conditions and opportunities. Many are deprived of freedom, peace, and even possibilities to fulfil their basic human needs. There are those who are suffering in silence and those who are fighting, winning small and large victories in their lives. There are also those who are defeated. And those who need to support them.

This is a story about all who struggle, but also about those who cannot merely observe and remain indifferent to the suffering that surrounds us, and who do whatever they possibly can to make the world a better place for all the people and other living beings.

Imagine, try, create

Creation is movement, origination, life that is going on endlessly. Creativity is the spark that ignites life, and also our own ability as human beings to create in our lives.

BE A SUPPORT

In a time of crisis

„Be a support” to anyone who needs to be supported, and whenever you can. Whenever somebody turns to you, and whenever you know that someone needs your support. Make a pause, listen carefully, do what you can – smile, say a kind word, try to understand, offer empathy and comfort. Receive gratitude and spread it.
Be the voice of kindness that cuts through the indifferent silence.

Our world is going through a period of crisis. The times of uncertainty that have lasted for a long time now, bringing into question many things that we thought we knew with certainty and believed in. Many people lost their lives, many are barely managing to survive, a large number of people have lost hope, and even more fear losing their safety. Such a time calls for solidarity, mutual support, empathy, humaneness, perseverance, and brave individuals who are creating a new world, with their kindness, for the present and future times.

Human and children’s rights

Live, think, advocate human and child rights! Respect, celebrate, rejoice in them! Create spaces where all human beings are equally valued and live with dignity in their diversity. Notice, listen, and embrace each authentic existence and support their full development!
Lead the way, by your own example, for others to be inspired!

The Universal Declaration of Human Rights originated after World War II to protect humanity from repeating the unprecedented atrocities committed during the War. Unfortunately, the struggle for human rights is far from being over, and now, after eight decades, we are witnessing the urgent need for their renewed protection.

Human and children’s rights are not and should not be just a legal document imposed by a political agenda.
These rights articulate the inviolable value unparalleled value of human life, which is equal for all.

DEVELOP FURTHER

Programs – Seminars – Mentorship

The „Develop Furder” principle includes learning, networking, exchange of experiences and ideas, creation of programs and projects in cooperation and with the support of C31. As a team, we believe in education, the importance of sharing experiences and lessons learnt, intergenerational exchange, intersectoral and international cooperation. This principle is related to our commitment to partnership with relevant professionals, associations, institutions, and communities, from Serbia, the Balkan region, and beyond.

Inclusion of children and young people in the processes and activities aimed at enhancing their rights and well-being, as well as the well-being of society, is a task shared by all of us.
